Chithari is a coastal village in the district of Kasargod and is located around 4 km from the city of Kanhangad and is around 5 km away from the Bekal fort. The rive Chithari starts from the eastern hills and goes up to the Arabian Sea. The western side is on the 3 km long Chithari beach and the eastern side is on the Chalingal Cashew Plant. The northern side is the Chithari Bridge and the southern side is the Manikoth village where the Manikoth Makaham and the Madiyan Koolam temple are located.

Chithari is made up of South Chithari, North Chithari and Central Chithari.
